Analytical values come from the Logic Cloud Geo USGS 3DEP service. The map's visual 3D
terrain uses separate Mapzen terrain tiles and may not match the analytical samples.
How line sampling works
The browser measures the complete multi-vertex line geodesically, selects a readable
spacing from 25 meters upward, includes both endpoints, and caps the request at 200
samples. Longer lines are intentionally sampled more sparsely.
What the 3D map means
Tilt, rotation, hillshade, and vertical exaggeration help reveal terrain. They are
visualization controls. The numerical table is the service result and remains
unchanged when the display exaggeration changes.
